Influence of homogenization degree on microstructure and mechanical properties for a novel wrought superalloy

Abstract The present work aims at investigating the impact of homogenization time on microstructure and mechanical properties a Ni-based superalloy GH4151 during hot deformation. results showed that dense dendrite structure remained after 1200°C for 5 h, which was similar to as-cast microstructure. Higher flow stress cracking in h-homogenized material is attributed integral deformation with greater resistance less recrystallization. Furthermore, decrease increasing helped promote dynamic recrystallization (DRX) 12h 36 h due nucleation position. When increased 60h, increase grain size makes dislocation gather within increase.
